JL Audio 10TW1-2 10-Inch Thin-Line 2-Ohm Single Voice Coil (SVC) Subwoofer

Designed to excel in previously impossible spaces: Offering a powerful combination of shallow mounting depth, minimal frontal clearance and ultracompact enclosure requirements, the TW1 subwoofers are an outstanding choice for the tightest space applications. Their thin-line technology extracts the maximum in bass sound quality and output from a uniquely space-efficient architecture.

Features

  • Delivers deep, powerful bass performance in tight-space installations
  • Choose from 10- or 12-inch TW1 thin-line subwoofers
  • Extremely small enclosure volume requirements (0.35 cubic feet / 9.91 Liters)
  • Thin-line frame design minimizes each subwoofer’s need for frontal clearance
  • Pairs best with amplifier power in the 75- to 300-Watt range
  • 1-year manufacturer’s warranty

Recessed Suspension: With the TW1 subwoofers’ low-profile suspension design, most of the forward excursion of the driver occurs within the frame’s dimensions — requiring only 0.87 inches of frontal clearance, even with the supplied grille installed. This allows for more efficient use of space and increased enclosure volume within a given overall depth.

Engineered for Big Sound from a Small Enclosure: In keeping with their “tight spaces” mission, the TW1 subwoofers deliver a powerful combination of shallow mounting depth and outstanding excursion capability to generate smooth and powerful bass from a remarkably compact enclosure.

Polypropylene Cone Technology: Known for their durability and moisture-resistance in harsh environments, the TW1 series’ injection-molded, mica-filled polypropylene cone design offers impressive frequency response and deep, powerful bass reproduction with minimal distortion.

Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) Optimized Design: Proprietary motor, suspension and cone modeling systems are used to achieve long, linear excursion capabilities with low distortion and powerful sound output. The result is tight, clean, articulate bass performance at all power levels.

Space-Saving Frame Design: Benefiting from years of JL Audio woofer design experience, the robust TW1 series speakers feature purpose-engineered cast-alloy frames with flat edges for tight grouping when mounting two or more speakers side-by-side.

Powerfully Adaptable: On a wide range of vehicle applications, with sealed or ported enclosures, the TW1 subwoofers deliver superb sound quality and power handling. Both the 10- and 12-inch versions support pairing with amplifiers in the 75- to 300-Watt range.

Concentric Tube Suspension Technology: The TW1 series features a patented concentric tube structure built into the injection-molded speaker cone body. This structure supports the voice coil and a full annular spider while permitting the placement of a large motor structure farther forward in the speaker than with conventional designs.

Engineered Lead-Wire System: Carefully engineered lead-wire design and attachments ensure controlled, quiet lead-wire behavior under the most extreme excursion demands.

Engineering enhancements are ongoing and may not be reflected in the pictures, videos and specifications.

* For one-way linear excursion (Xmax), specs are derived via one-way voice coil overhang method with no correction factors applied.

** Enclosure volumes listed are net internal volumes. Box volume displacement, port displacement and brace displacement must be added to obtain the final gross internal volume. All enclosure dimensions listed have already taken this into account. See Manual for additional details.

JL Audio notes: The enclosure recommendations listed above are external dimensions which assume the use of 3/4-inch (0.75 in; 19 mm) thick material. If you are using 5/8th-inch (0.625 in; 16 mm) thick material, subtract 0.25 in (6.5 mm) from each dimension. Do not use any material with a thickness of less than 5/8-inch (0.625 in; 16 mm) as this may compromise the rigidity of the enclosure.

All enclosure volumes listed above are net internal volumes! Driver displacement, port displacement and brace displacement must be added to obtain the final gross internal volume. All enclosure dimensions above have already taken this into account.

When using multiples in a common enclosure you will need to recalculate the enclosure and port dimensions. For assistance please contact your authorized JL Audio dealer or JL Audio Technical Support.

JL Audio recommends the use of this in a bi-amplified system using high-quality satellites and a high-quality amplifier. They do not recommend the use of this with a passive crossover (coil), as this type of device will adversely affect performance.

Due to continual development, product and specifications are subject to change without notice. Garmin, JL Audio and its agents are not responsible for typographical errors.

RMS = Root Mean Square, measure of continuous power in audio devices
