POLYPROPYLENE CONE TECHNOLOGY: An injection-molded, mineral-filled polypropylene cone structure with rubber surround offers crisp, strong bass output matched with the rigidity and durability to withstand extended play at high volume levels. A distinctive metallic JL Audio medallion adds a finishing accent.
THERE’S NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT: If you have the space, it makes perfect sense to maximize your subwoofer system’s piston area to enhance efficiency and output. The 13.5-inch JL Audio 13W3v3 subwoofer can move 54% more air than a 12-inch 12W3v3. It’s math that means more bang for your buck.
CUSTOM ACCENTS: A removable and customizable mounting flange trim ring is included. Optional steel-mesh grille inserts (sold separately) add style and protection for your subwoofer — and the removable trim ring receives these inserts directly to make grille installation a snap.
POWERFULLY ADAPTABLE: The W3v3 subwoofer line offers superb sound quality and power handling for a wide range of vehicles and amplifiers. The most compact 6.5-inch model has a continuous power-handling capability of 150 Watts RMS, while the largest 13.5-inch driver offers up to 600 Watts RMS of continuous power-handling capability.
ELEVATED FRAME COOLING: The patented JL Audio elevated frame cooling design creates a pathway for high-velocity air to flow directly across the top plate of the speaker voice coil — cooling it for better power handling and improved reliability.
ENGINEERED LEAD-WIRE SYSTEM: Carefully engineered lead-wire design and attachments ensure controlled, quiet lead-wire behavior under the most extreme excursion demands.
FCAM™ TECHNOLOGY: This “floating cone attach method” of bonding the surround/cone assembly to the voice coil former/spider structure ensures proper surround geometry in the assembled speaker for better excursion control and dynamic voice coil alignment.
VENTED REINFORCEMENT COLLAR: The JL Audio VRC™ collar design improves the rigidity and stability of the cone/spider/voice coil junction and directs airflow over the voice coil windings for improved thermal performance.

JL Audio notes: The enclosure recommendations listed above are external dimensions which assume the use of 3/4-inch (0.75 in; 19 mm) thick material. If you are using 5/8-inch (0.625 in; 16 mm) thick material, subtract 1/4 inch (0.25 in; 6.5 mm) from each dimension. Do not use any material with a thickness of less than 5/8ths inch (0.625 in; 16 mm) as this may compromise the rigidity of the enclosure.
JL Audio recommends the use of this in a bi-amplified system using high-quality satellites and a high-quality amplifier. They do not recommend the use of this with a passive crossover (coil), as this type of device will adversely affect performance.
